Job summary

Schneider National, Inc. in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to perform on-site maintenance on trucks, containers and trailers. This full-time role offers a Monday-Wednesday schedule with every other weekend, 5:00 a.m.

– 3:30 p.m., and a service truck stocked with specialty tools and parts. The position requires a diesel technology degree or 1 year of diesel technician experience, travel to customer sites, a valid CDL and DOT medical card, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Technical degree in diesel technology or 1 year diesel technician experience.
• Valid driver license and able to meet DMV standards.
• Valid DOT medical card or able to obtain within 30 days.
• Welding skills preferred.
• Experience with computer systems and diagnostic software.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete inspections, diagnoses and work estimations.
• Communicate status updates to Cowan drivers and internal customers.

Job overview

• Work outside a shop as a Mobile Diesel Technician in Bowling Green, KY.
• Complete on-site maintenance on trucks, containers and trailers.
• Be supplied with a service truck that’s stocked with the specialty tools and parts needed to get the job done efficiently and correctly.

Responsibilities

• Perform on‑site maintenance, including tire changes, electrical repairs, engine repairs and welding jobs.
• Complete inspections, diagnoses and work estimations.
• Communicate status updates to Cowan drivers and internal customers.

Skills and qualifications

• Technical degree in diesel technology or related field, or a minimum of 1 year of diesel technician experience.
• Travel required to on‑site customers.
• Valid driver license and can meet Cowan DMV record standards.
• Valid DOT medical card or able to attain it within 30 days.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Computer systems and diagnostic software experience.
• Able to work independently with little supervision.
