Job summary

Cowan is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to perform on-site maintenance on trucks, containers and trailers in Bowling Green, KY. You’ll work with a supplied service truck and perform tire changes, engine and electrical repairs, and welding as needed.

Travel to on-site customers is required. A technical degree in diesel technology or 1 year of diesel tech experience is expected, along with a valid CDL and DOT medical card or ability to obtain one within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and must meet DMV standards.
• Valid DOT medical card or able to obtain within 30 days.

Job overview

• Work outside a shop as a Mobile Diesel Technician in Bowling Green, KY.
• Complete on-site maintenance on trucks, containers and trailers.
• Be supplied with a service truck that’s stocked with the specialty tools and parts needed to get the job done efficiently and correctly.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site maintenance, including tire changes, electrical repairs, engine repairs and welding jobs.
• Complete inspections, diagnoses and work estimations.
• Communicate status updates to Cowan drivers and internal customers.

Skills and qualifications

• Technical degree in diesel technology or related field, or a minimum of 1 year of diesel technician experience.
• Travel required to on-site customers.
• Valid driver license and can meet Cowan DMV record standards.
• Valid DOT medical card or able to attain it within 30 days.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Computer systems and diagnostic software experience.
• Able to work independently with little supervision.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

• Non-exempt U.S. shop associates working weekend hours, receive a $0.65 per hour differential for hours worked. (Weekend hours worked between 9pm Friday – 5am Monday).
