Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PM maintenance, and diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. You will work on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles, handling electrical, brake, and engine systems, often in customer sites.

The role requires independent scheduling, adherence to DOT and OSHA standards, and ongoing learning of advanced diagnostic skills. Eligible candidates will have a HS diploma or GED and ASE T8 certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 3 years’ related field experience, or 5 years alternative.
• Own set of hand tools necessary to perform duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on trucks in the field.
• Perform minor repairs and diagnostics on electrical, brake, cooling systems.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect and test equipment using handheld devices and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Maintain safety checks and manage daily work schedule.
• Document RO findings and parts used in TRAIT system.
