Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-medium repairs on heavy trucks in a mobile/field setting. You’ll diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems, while coordinating parts and documenting findings on RO using a company iOS device.

The role requires HS diploma or GED with 3 years of related experience, ASE T8 within 18 months, and DOT compliance. Training and regional safety standards are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ experience in a related field or equivalent.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance and pre-employment checks.
• Possess a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine and transmission systems.
• Inspect, test and road-test vehicles to verify proper operation after repairs.
• Manage parts and materials on the service truck and document work performed.

ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification

ASE T4 (Brakes) certification

ASE T5 (Suspension) certification

ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
