Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Mobile Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and heavy equipment across multiple Maryland sites. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, routine servicing, and close coordination with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, 2+ years of diesel experience, and knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Diesel Mechanics Technology preferred
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy equipment
• Field-based role requiring travel to multiple sites throughout Maryland
• Strong knowledge of diesel systems including engines, hydraulics, electrical, and fuel systems
• Ability to troubleshoot engine or system issues using diagnostic tools
• ASE Diesel Certification or OEM-specific training preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel engines and hydraulic systems to identify faults
• Repair and rebuild diesel engines, transmissions, and rotary equipment components using specialized tools and diagnostic software
• Execute routine and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure fleet reliability and safety
• Oversee calibration and adjustment of engine controls, fuel injection systems, and emission control devices
• Collaborate with maintenance to develop repair plans, estimate repair costs, and order necessary parts
• Maintain accurate service records, inspect safety systems, and ensure OSHA compliance
• Demonstrate commitment to health, safety and environmental policies on all jobsites
