Job summary

The Halter Group is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to service a growing fleet across multiple sites in the United States. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, maintaining service records, and using fleet software. CDL-B is preferred but not required; company offers training to obtain it.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, with 2–3 years in automotive/diesel services preferred.
• Associates degree or certification in diesel technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect, repair, and track diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical and cooling systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on heavy‑duty diesel engines and equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records and use fleet maintenance software.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and improve engine efficiency.
• Be able to travel to customer sites and perform repairs with minimal downtime.
• Work overtime and be available for emergencies or weekend callouts.
