Job summary

Savage is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic in Golconda, NV to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair heavy trucks on-site. You will ensure compliance with safety standards and keep accurate maintenance records in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of fleet experience; CDL-A is a plus. Compensation is $30.00–$36.00/hr with built-in overtime and full benefits package. Savage values growth, team collaboration, and a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of Semi-Truck Fleet Mechanic experience.
• Experience with a variety of trucks is a plus.

• Days/Hours: Sunday-Thursday, 5 a.m.- 3 p.m.

What You Will Be Doing

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment in the field
• Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Learn and partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to maintain accurate maintenance records
• Other general maintenance duties as required
• Collaborate with Team Members outside of the department to ensure the overall success of the operation

What You'll Need To Be Successful

• Two to three years of Semi-Truck Fleet Mechanic experience, and experience with a variety of trucks a plus
• Confidence in repairing suspensions, rear ends, transmissions, air brake systems, minor engine work (injectors, turbos, etc.) and more
• An expert in identifying and diagnosing needed repairs by computer-based systems, being able to visually recognize problems a big plus
• Class A CDL a plus, but not required
• The ability to weld aluminum is a plus
• For safety, it is essential that the candidate possesses English communication skills. The job demands the ability to understand and interpret both written and verbal operational and safety guidelines, as well as related regulations, policies, and memos
• Clear and effective communication with colleagues and superiors is a key requirement for this role
• Ensure compliance to strict OSHA and State regulations

Physical Requirements Of This Role

• Physically able to handle heavy parts and pieces of equipment
• Safely Climb on and off the equipment
• Physically demanding work will be a daily function of this position
• Climb, crawl, and position their body in such a way that they can perform their required duties
• This person should be able to frequently lift 80 lbs
