Job summary

Savage Services in Carlin, NV is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to perform field maintenance and repairs on our fleet. The position runs Tuesday–Saturday, 6 p.m.–4 a.m., with an hourly pay of $30.00–$36.00 and benefits that include time off and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of Semi-Truck Fleet Mechanic experience; experience with a variety of trucks is a plus.
• Proficiency in diagnosing repairs by computer-based systems; ability to visually identify issues is a big plus.
• Welding aluminum is a plus.
• Class A CDL is a plus, but not required.
• Strong English communication and clear, effective collaboration with team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment in the field.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
• Ensure work complies with regulatory requirements and industry best practices; maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Other general maintenance duties as required.
• Collaborate with team members outside the department to support overall operations.

What you will be doing

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment in the field
• Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Learn and partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to maintain accuratemaintenance records
• Other general maintenance duties as required
• Collaborate with Team Members outside of the department to ensure the overall success of the operation

What you'll need to be successful

• Two to three years of Semi-Truck Fleet Mechanic experience, and experience with a variety of trucks a plus
• Confidencein repairing suspensions, rear ends, transmissions, air brake systems, minor engine work (injectors, turbos, etc.) and more
• An expert in identifying and diagnosing needed repairs by computer-based systems, being able to visually recognize problems a big plus
• Class A CDL a plus, but not required
• The ability to weld aluminum is a plus
• For safety, it is essential that the candidate possesses English communication skills. The job demands the ability to understand and interpret both written and verbal operational and safety guidelines, as well as related regulations, policies, and memos
• Clear and effective communication with colleagues and superiors is a key requirement for this role
• Ensure compliance to strict OSHA and State regulations
