Job summary

Honey Bucket is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic based in Tualatin, OR to service our Oregon fleet from Longview, WA to Salem, OR. You will perform inspections, diagnostic tests, and maintenance on diesel engines, drivetrains, and hydraulics, with after-hours availability for emergencies and weekend calls.

The role requires 5+ years in commercial fleet maintenance, owning tools, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of practical experience in commercial fleet maintenance.
• CDL is preferred.
• Welding certification and fabrication experience preferred.
• Must own tools and be proficient with trade tools.
• Basic computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and diagnose equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and ensure vehicles are in good operating condition.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance services.
• Utilize laptops, scanners, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair diesel engines.
• Repair and replace drivetrain components including transmissions, clutches, drive lines and differentials.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and components.
• Perform DOT inspections on trucks and trailers.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and keep up with safety policies.

Mobile Mechanic - Tualatin, OR

We’re looking for a skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic to support our fleet across our Oregon Territory — from Longview, WA, to Salem, OR. Based out of Tualatin, OR, you’ll handle on-site service calls and keep our equipment running strong, working closely with our Shop and PC leadership for scheduling and support.

• Pay: $40.00 - $48.00 per hour (DOE)
• Schedule: Flexible shift, with overtime and weekend work as needed.
• Status: Full-Time, Year-Round

Day in the Life:

As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a vital role in keeping our fleet on the road. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and ensure vehicles remain in proper operating condition
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance services
• Utilize diagnostic tools including laptops, scanners, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair diesel engines
• Repair and replace drive train components including automatic and manual transmissions, clutches, drive lines and differentia
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and components
• Perform DOT inspections on trucks and trailers
• Maintain safe and organized work area
• Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications
• Adhere to NWC Safety Policies and follows all applicable laws and regulations
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• After-Hours Availability: Must be available to respond to after-hours service calls on nights and weekends as needed.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years practical experience in commercial fleet maintenance. In addition, we will consider the following qualifications when reviewing applications:

• Applicants must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license
• CDL is preferred
• Welding certification and fabrication experience is preferred
• Must have own tools and proficient in all use of all tools of trade
• Basic computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and diagnosis equipment
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
