Job summary

Northwest Cascade's Honey Bucket division is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic based in Tualatin, OR. You will support our Oregon Territory with on-site service calls across the region, keeping our fleet running smoothly and coordinating with shop and leadership for scheduling.

The role requires at least 5 years in commercial fleet maintenance, a clean driving record, and tool proficiency. CDL is preferred; you’ll use laptops, scanners, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair diesel engines,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years practical experience in commercial fleet maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Own tools and proficiency in all trade tools.
• Basic computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and diagnosis equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance services.
• Utilize laptops, scanners, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair diesel engines.
• Repair and replace drivetrain components including transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and components.
• Perform DOT inspections on trucks and trailers.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.

Mobile Mechanic - Tualatin, OR

We're looking for a skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic to support our fleet across our Oregon Territory — from Longview, WA, to Salem, OR. Based out of Tualatin, OR, you'll handle on-site service calls and keep our equipment running strong, working closely with our Shop and PC leadership for scheduling and support.

• Pay: $40.00 - $48.00 per hour (DOE)
• Schedule: Flexible shift, with overtime and weekend work as needed.
• Status: Full-Time, Year-Round

Day in the Life:

As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a vital role in keeping our fleet on the road. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and ensure vehicles remain in proper operating condition
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance services
• Utilize diagnostic tools including laptops, scanners, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair diesel engines
• Repair and replace drive train components including automatic and manual transmissions, clutches, drive lines and differentia
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and components
• Perform DOT inspections on trucks and trailers
• Maintain safe and organized work area
• Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications
• Adhere to NWC Safety Policies and follows all applicable laws and regulations
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• After-Hours Availability: Must be available to respond to after-hours service calls on nights and weekends as needed.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years practical experience in commercial fleet maintenance. In addition, we will consider the following qualifications when reviewing applications:

• Applicants must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license
• CDL is preferred
• Welding certification and fabrication experience is preferred
• Must have own tools and proficient in all use of all tools of trade
• Basic computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and diagnosis equipment
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
