Job description

Job Title: Mobile Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of trucks, including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and documentation of inspections.
• Manage inventory control for the service truck and ensure proper stocking of supplies.
• Report to the Service Manager and complete assigned duties daily.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and maintain an open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory tools required for maintaining diesel engine trucks and equipment.
• Read job orders, observe vehicle operation, and determine malfunctions to plan work procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
• Perform diagnosis, removal, and replacement of parts such as injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, and more.
• Document diagnostic and repair activities accurately in the company system.
• Inspect safety devices and make necessary adjustments.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs meet specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Complete paperwork and update mobile service records promptly.
• Respond to customer inquiries, fostering positive relations.
• Advise customers or service writers on future repairs or services.
• Participate in training and apply learned skills in work tasks.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Valid CDL and Medical card as per FMVSS requirements.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical skills are essential.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets insurance guidelines.
