Job summary

W.W. Williams is seeking a Mobile Fleet Technician to perform on-site preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks at customer locations. The role emphasizes DOT compliance and high repair quality while working independently in diverse conditions.

You will diagnose electrical, HVAC, and emissions systems, document work, and train junior technicians. A valid CDL, DOT medical card, ASE certifications, and strong communication skills are

Qualifications

• 3+ years of diesel repair experience; 5–7 years preferred in fleet/dealership/mobile settings.
• Certificate from a technical school or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and DOT Medical Card (or able to obtain).
• ASE Certifications: T4, T7, T8 and MACS 609 or equivalent mobile A/C cert.
• Strong diagnostic/troubleshooting across brake, emissions, electrical, HVAC.
• Proficient with repair planning, parts reuse; able to document work.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and diagnostic software.
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to work in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks per specs.
• Conduct vehicle inspections to identify damaged or worn parts.
• Create and execute repair plans including labor hours and parts.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, A/C, emissions, and other systems.
• Complete PMs, DOT inspections, and documentation accurately.
• Use diagnostic software and follow repair procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas on-site and in company vehicles.
• Keep accurate records for invoicing and warranties.
• Utilize company tools and manage personal tool inventories.
• Support and train junior technicians as needed.
• Adhere to safety, EPA, and company policies.
