Job summary

Kraken is seeking a senior React Native mobile engineer to own the feel of the Kraken app—trade confirmations, chart loading, and sheet interactions. You will work on a mobile-first React Native codebase with Reanimated and Skia, bridging to native when needed, and balancing JS and UI thread workloads to deliver a trusted experience.

You will shape the mobile design system, champion high-fidelity interactions, and partner with product designers to ship polished, performant UI.

Qualifications

• A portfolio demonstrating React Native apps and interaction design.
• Strong React Native fluency and ability to reason about performance on mobile.
• Experience with motion design, easing curves, and responsive UI.

Responsibilities

• Own the motion and interaction layer of the Kraken app, including transitions, gestures, and haptics.
• Evolve and maintain the mobile design system and reusable components.
• Collaborate with product designers to elevate motion and interaction design from concept to implementation.
• Profile and optimize rendering performance, especially on lower-end devices.
• Contribute to architectural decisions affecting UI responsiveness and data flow.
• Lead by example in establishing patterns that make correct decisions easier.
