Job summary

Kraken’s Consumer Mobile team is hiring a mobile-focused React Native engineer to own the feel of the Kraken app. You’ll shape the moment of trade confirmations, chart loading, and sheet transitions, ensuring trust in a crypto platform used by millions.

You will work on a mobile-first codebase with Reanimated and Skia, bridging to native when needed, and focusing on the JS vs UI thread split for top-tier performance.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating React Native work with interactive UI
• Deep React Native fluency and experience with performance profiling
• Strong eye for motion, easing, and transitions
• Ability to take a brief from concept to ship-ready feature
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate engineering work
• Excellent written and verbal English communication

Responsibilities

• Own the motion and interaction layer of the Kraken app, including easing, springs, gestures, transitions, and haptics.
• Evolve the mobile design system by owning components and standards used by other engineers.
• Collaborate with product designers to elevate motion and interaction design from concept through implementation.
• Profile and optimize rendering performance, especially on lower-end Android devices.
• Contribute to architectural decisions affecting UI responsiveness and data flow in the view layer.
• Raise the bar for what great looks like across the mobile org through code reviews and patterns.
