Job summary

Elevate is seeking Mobile Response Team members to respond to community mental health crises in Iowa. You will work on-call, often in pairs or with law enforcement, and travel to client sites within one hour.

The role requires diverse backgrounds and flexible hours, with a competitive wage of $18.54 per hour and benefits, including potential remote work. Applicants may come from clinical, law enforcement, EMT, or peer support backgrounds, and must meet the listed qualifications and training

Qualifications

• Mental health professional as defined in Iowa Code section 228.1.
• Bachelor’s degree with 30 semester hours in a human services field and 1 year of behavioral/mental health experience.
• Law enforcement officer with 2+ years of experience in the field.
• EMT with 2+ years of experience in the EMT field.
• Peer support specialist with 1+ year of experience in behavioral/mental health services.
• Family support peer specialist with 1+ year of experience in behavioral/mental health services.
• Registered nurse with 1+ year of experience in behavioral or mental health services.
• Bachelor’s degree in a non-human services-related field, associate’s degree, or high school diploma with 2 years in behavioral/mental health and 30 hours crisis/mental health in-service training.
• Dependable transportation; valid driver’s license with driving record if transporting; working telephone/dispatch; flexible schedule including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Function as an effective team member and represent Elevate in a professional manner, complete related data entry, paperwork, and notify Elevate after call is completed.
• Be accessible by telephone and prepared to respond to calls during all scheduled shifts, arrive at any client location within one hour of being called, coordinate arrival with co-worker for two-person response, and develop professional relationships with mental health practitioners, law enforcement, school personnel, hospital staff and others.
