Job summary

BJC Behavioral Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to operate within a Mobile Crisis Response team. You will work in community settings, visiting clients in crisis and providing supportive assessments, documentation, and clinical guidance while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

Your role emphasizes recovery-focused strategies and collaboration with staff and leaders. Ideal candidates bring experience with crisis clients, resiliency, and a strengths-based approach to help

Qualifications

• Experience with clients in crisis preferred.
• Ability to manage stress and adapt to change.
• Solutions-oriented and focused on client strengths/resources.
• Willing to collaborate with staff and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead mutual support groups.
• Promote dialogues on recovery and resilience.
• Teach and model symptom management skills.
• Teach and model problem-solving skills.
• Identify goals and barriers to improving quality of life (CTT teams).
• Support Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) recovery efforts.
• Engage Transitional Age Youth and Homeless-focused activities.
