North Central Behavioral Health Systems seeks a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join the Mobile Crisis Response Team, partnering with a Crisis Counselor to deliver rapid, community-based behavioral health crisis support. You will use lived experience to engage individuals, promote recovery, and link them to housing, healthcare, and community resources.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personal lived experience with behavioral health and/or substance use recovery.
• Ability to utilize lived experience in a professional and recovery-oriented manner.
• Ability to establish positive and supportive relationships with individuals experiencing crisis.

Responsibilities

• Serve on a Mobile Crisis Response Team alongside a Crisis Counselor.
• Provide community-based crisis support in homes, schools, hospitals, and other settings.
• Use lived experience to build rapport and engage individuals in crisis.
• Provide trauma-informed peer support during and after crisis events.
• Assist clients in identifying strengths, coping skills, supports, and recovery resources.
