Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington seeks a Crisis Specialist (BSW) for the ChAMPS program to provide rapid mobile crisis assessment and intervention for youth aged 6–17 (up to 21 in CFSA care). The role involves collaboration with a partner and a clinical team to stabilize crises and arrange hospitalization when needed.

The position requires a DC LSWA license, MD LBSW, a Bachelor’s in Social Work, and at least one year working with youth or families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work is required.
• LSWA license in the District of Columbia and LBSW for Maryland required.
• One year experience working with youth and/or families preferred.
• Driving is required with a valid local driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Deliver crisis assessment and intervention services as part of a team.
• Deescalate and stabilize clients in their home or environment and assess therapeutic needs.
• Complete FD-12 for emergency hospitalization when needed.
• Document services in client records within 24 hours of service.
• Follow up by phone within 24 hours and in person within 72 hours of deployment.
• Maintain open client cases for up to 30 days.
• Coordinate with families, schools, law enforcement and agencies for services.
• Attend trainings, meetings, outreach events, and testify in court when required.
• Participate in weekly supervision with Clinical Manager.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
