Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington seeks a Crisis Specialist (BSW) for the ChAMPS program to deliver mobile crisis assessment and intervention for 6-17 year olds. You will collaborate with a team, coordinate services with families, schools, and community partners, and support stabilization or hospitalization as needed.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in a human services field, DC LSWA/LBSW licensure, and driving ability; weekend/holiday coverage is expected as part of rotating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related Human Services field.
• Licensed clinician with LSWA (DC) and LBSW (MD).
• One year experience working with youth and/or families.
• Driving is required with a valid local license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Deliver crisis assessment and intervention services to children and adolescents in the community as part of a team.
• Deescalate and stabilize clients in their home or current environment and assess therapy needs.
• Complete FD-12 application for emergency hospitalization when necessary.
• Document services in client records within 24 hours.
• Follow-up via phone within 24 hours and in-person within 72 hours of deployment.
• Maintain open client cases for up to 30 days.
• Coordinate with families, schools, law enforcement and other agencies to facilitate services.
• Attend trainings, meetings, and testify in court when required.
• Participate in weekly supervision and consultations for each deployment.
