Job summary

Sweetser in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Crisis Intervention Specialist to deliver assessment, stabilization and brief follow-up services in the community and crisis units. This full-time role offers a starting hourly rate and the chance to make a real difference for Maine families.

Ideal candidates will have MHRT/CSP, a clean driver's license, and strong English communication. Mobile crisis experience is preferred; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• MHRT/CSP required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Clean driver’s license.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis intervention requests from clients and families to resolve acute psychiatric crises.
• Assess mental status, risk and needs to determine crisis resolution steps.
• Develop and implement crisis stabilization plans with clients and guardians.
• May request protective custody interventions by law enforcement when needed.
• May facilitate hospitalization and alternatives to hospitalization as appropriate.
• Provide brief case management and aftercare to support follow-up.
