Job summary

Sweetser in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Crisis Residential Counselor to provide crisis stabilization services to adults in psychiatric distress. The role involves working Fri-Sun, 7a-7p, with a $19.00 per hour rate, at the Crisis Stabilization Unit.

You will engage with clients to support treatment goals, document progress, and collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to promote safety, dignity, and recovery for individuals and families served by Sweetser.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and experience working in the mental/behavioral health field.
• One year of experience providing direct care and/or crisis intervention to adults in a related field.
• MHRT I state certification or eligibility for and completion of certification within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis stabilization services to adults in psychiatric crisis.
• Interact with clients in a supportive, respectful environment and maintain clear boundaries.
• Write descriptive and concise progress notes relative to the clients' goals and objectives.
• Work as part of the crisis stabilization team to ensure safety and continuity of care.

This position is located in Lewiston and works on Sweetser's Crisis Stabilization Unit. This full-time position provides crisis stabilization services to adults who are in a psychiatric crisis. This position will interact with the client in a positive environment that is assessed as necessary to prevent de-compensation or acute psychiatric hospitalization.
