Paycom is hiring a Mobile Crisis Intervention Counselor or Specialist to provide direct crisis counseling and mobile intervention in the home or community. You will assess risk, create safety plans, and coordinate referrals to mental health, addiction, trauma, and related supports.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in human services, with at least one year of clinical experience and a valid US driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (Counselor) or Master’s (Specialist) in human services or related field.
  • At least one year of clinical experience providing direct services to persons with mental illness.
  • Current, valid driver's license in the state of residence, three years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate crisis counseling and mobile crisis intervention in the community or via phone.
  • Assess risk and develop immediate safety plans with clear, measurable outcomes.
  • Coordinate linkage to community resources and involuntary hospitalization when necessary.
  • Document intakes, progress notes, and discharge plans in accordance with supervisor guidance.
  • Engage families and coordinate with physicians, psychiatrists, and other providers as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings to maintain crisis intervention competencies.

# Mobile Crisis Intervention Counselor or Specialist3751 Island Ave - Philadelphia, PA 19153## Description**Summary:** As a Crisis Intervention Counselor or Specialist, you will provide meaningful counseling, help individuals develop coping strategies, and facilitate linkage to other agencies or community resources that can assist members. The Mobile Crisis Intervention Counselor or Specialist can speak with a member of the crisis team regarding mental health, addiction, trauma, etc., either over the phone or in-person in their homes or communities. Will work with members in their home and/or the community**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Provide immediate access to “hands-on” crisis support through phone counseling and mobile in-person crisis intervention* Provide rapid and effective assessment, support, 302 & 201 hospitalization (when necessary), linkage to community resources, crisis prevention planning, and follow-up* Provide all appropriate documentation set forth by Supervisor including intakes, progress notes, medical charting, discharge plans, and individual assessments* Develop and write action plans in a timely manner with clear and measurable outcomes* Participate in assertive outreach to individuals identified to be high users of crisis services* Develop and secure appropriate services for individuals in crisis, including referrals to voluntary inpatient settings and applications for involuntary emergency examination and treatment under §302 of the Mental Health Procedures Act of 1976. Provide linkages to community supports, supportive counseling, and substance abuse services and always reflect the possibility of recovery* Complete referrals for follow-up services by community mental health and other supports.* Interface with families of persons served and other interested parties* Maintain communication with physician, psychiatrist, pharmacist, and other appropriate ancillary service providers* Intervene in crisis situations* Attend scheduled staff team meetings and appropriate in-service training as directed by supervisor## QualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceA bachelor’s (Counselor) or master's (Specialist) degree in human services or a related field from an accredited college or university, with at least one year of clinical experience providing direct services to persons with a diagnosis of mental illness. Must demonstrate competence in assertive/aggression management. Must enjoy seeing clients in the community. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must have a current, valid driver's license in the state of residence, three (3) years of driving experience in the United States, and an acceptable driving record.
