Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking compassionate Mobile Crisis On-Call Counselors to respond to mental health crises in community or home settings, providing on-site support and consultation. The role includes on-call availability and coordination with partners within a 1-hour response region.

Shifts include 7a-3p, 3p-11p, and 11p-7a across Des Moines, IA, with on-call pay when available. This PRN position supports Crisis Services within UnityPoint Health - Eyerly Ball.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the following education paths: mental health professional per Iowa code, bachelor’s, associate’s, or high school diploma.
• Experience levels vary by education: 1–2 years for many education routes as listed in the ad.
• Valid driver’s license required and compliance with auto insurance policy; background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis response and intervention to clients on crisis calls in community or home settings where the crisis is occurring.
• Complete related data entry and documentation in accordance with agency policy.
• During an on-call shift, be available by telephone and be prepared to respond to calls within a 1-hour physical response region while coordinating with the on-call partner.
