Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections is hiring a Correctional Officer for the Mobile Custody Team. The role requires extensive statewide travel to maintain security, supervise offender movements, conduct counts, searches and escorts, and ensure safety across facilities.

You will perform inspections, report violations, and participate in rehabilitation efforts while working in a regulated, mission-driven environment. Benefits are provided and advancement opportunities exist within the department.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background investigation.
• Defensive Tactics and Standard First Aid/CPR training during Basic Training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security in buildings/towers/other posts of an adult correctional facility.
• Supervise movement of offenders inside/outside facilities; conduct counts and searches.
• Inspect for health and safety hazards; prepare reports on violations or security issues.
• Promote rehabilitation and discourage undesirable behaviors through interaction with offenders.
