Job summary

The Commercial Concrete Finisher role is based in Des Moines, IA and focuses on prepping, pouring, placing and finishing concrete according to project drawings. You will build and set wood and metal forms for concrete structures and aid in reinforcing steel placement and elevations.

You will verify accuracy using plumb bobs, levels, and lasers, erect scaffolding, and coordinate with Foreman and Project Manager on materials and safety.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and prints to plan formwork.
• Build and assemble wood or metal forms for concrete floors, slabs, walls, columns, and tilt-walls.
• Set and place forms to proper elevations and locations and assist with reinforcing steel as needed.
• Verify accuracy of structures using plumb bob, level, laser or transit.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for work above ground level.
• Communicate with Foreman or Project Manager regarding materials, problems, or safety hazards.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and safe to operate.
• Assist with placement of concrete as needed.
