Virginia Commonwealth University seeks a Community Health Educator to join the Massey COE education, screening and navigation team in Williamsburg and Gloucester. The role focuses on increasing cancer awareness, promoting screening, and connecting people to follow-up care, with an emphasis on colorectal and prostate cancer.

As part of a mobile education unit, you will deliver in-person and remote education, coordinate community events, and help individuals determine eligibility for screening

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in health or STEM or equivalent combination.
• 2+ years in community-based health communications, health promotion, or navigation.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Familiarity with Williamsburg and/or Gloucester neighborhoods.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Experience using social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
• Respectful, professional, and civil demeanor with diverse populations.

Responsabilidades

• Co-lead a mobile team of credible messengers, traveling around Williamsburg and Gloucester in a Massey on the Move van.
• Identify locations for cancer health promotion events.
• Coordinate and participate in community outreach, education/programming, and events.
• Represent Massey at community events (tabling).
• Provide cancer education using Massey materials to raise awareness and promote screening.
