Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an experienced Union Non-Certified Operating Engineer for our Costa Mesa property. The mobile engineer will operate and maintain MEP systems, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and compliance with NFPA and local regulations.

Responsibilities include HVAC, electrical, plumbing work, emergency response, and routine inspections. The role requires 5+ years in similar settings and relevant licenses, with a competitive compensation range and comprehensive

Qualifications

5+ years of related work experience operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
Appropriate license/permit for trade (Journeyman/Master Electrician or city licenses such as Refrigeration Certificate of Fitness).
Must have Universal EPA or CFC certification.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel & Word.

Responsibilities

Perform all plumbing, electrical, or HVAC requirements of the building(s).
Maintain heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps, fan coil units, and air distribution systems.
Monitor and adjust mechanical/pneumatic equipment, steam stations, and control panels to ensure comfort.
Inspect engine room and electrical rooms, replace lamps, and ensure clear access to exits.
Respond to emergencies and comply with codes, safety training, and company directives.
