Job summary

The American Red Cross in Northern New Jersey is seeking a proactive team lead to support our mobile blood drive operations. You will coach, mentor, and instruct the blood collection staff while performing phlebotomy duties in communities served by the Red Cross.

You will receive paid phlebotomy training and grow your healthcare skills within the nation’s largest humanitarian organization, with a focus on patient care and donor experience.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience is required.
• Minimum 1 year leadership experience in environments with public interaction required.
• Phlebotomy experience is required.
• Customer service experience, effective verbal communication and public relations skills are required.
• A current valid driver's license and a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights and long hours; height requirements may apply.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team and drive for results through excellent customer service.
• Model professionalism and compassion while serving as an ambassador to the public for the nation’s largest not-for-profit blood banking organization.
• Work as a lead/charge at the mobile blood drives within the community and conduct phlebotomy.
• Able to work independently with attention to detail along with the knowledge of daily operations to ensure the blood the team collects and meets regulatory requirements.
