Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a phlebotomist to join our Philadelphia team. You will use your healthcare and customer service skills to support every step of the blood collection process, including transporting equipment and creating a welcoming donor environment.

You will receive paid phlebotomy training and have the chance to grow your healthcare skills within the nation’s leading humanitarian organization. The role may require variable hours and occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long hours.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Drive blood collection vehicles to transport required supplies, equipment, blood products and staff to and from mobile sites. Load and unload trucks and other vehicles.
• Take time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment for donors.
• Be detailed oriented all day to ensure blood meets goals and regulatory requirements and can be transfused safely.
• Set up and tear down equipment at donation sites.
