Job summary

Cox Enterprises is seeking an entry-level vehicle technician to perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on company vehicles. The role involves working on-site at our Riverside property with potential to be mobile as needed.

New hires may receive a $3,000 bonus, including a $1,500 tool bonus. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• ASE Certifications: G1, A4, A5 may be required by leadership.
• Ability to operate standard, automatic, and electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter changes, and inspections.
• Carry out repairs per certification level, including brakes, tires, tune-ups, suspensions, electrical, and driveline work.
• Keep shop clean and adhere to safety standards.
• Document vehicle history and maintenance records.

Job description

An entry level vehicle technician provides a high skill level of vehicle maintenance and repairs for vehicles. This technician will be working on property in a mobile capacity.

New Hires Are Eligible for a $3k Bonus (this includes a $1,500 tool bonus)

PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Perform Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies.
• Based upon certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance which may include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, electrical systems, interior/exterior components, engine, and driveline components, etc.
• Keep shop area clean and tidy.
• Perform work in accordance with safety standards.
• Dispose of all fluids in a safe manner and in accordance with all regulations.
• Create and maintains vehicle history and maintenance records.
• May up fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Required:

• 1 or more years of related work experience.
• The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required
• Must be able to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary
• Must continue training to meet with technology and automotive changes as they occur.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes to meet business requirements.

Preferred:

• A high school diploma or GED
• Current ASE Certifications: G1, A4, A5 status when required by leadership.

MCCOX

USD 24.09 - 36.11 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $24.09 - $36.11/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
