Cox Automotive in Belcamp, MD is seeking an Automotive Mechanic Technician II to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of vehicles. You will maintain service records, upfit new vehicles, and ensure safety standards are met in a busy shop.

The role requires 3+ years of vehicle service experience, a valid driver’s license, and ability to operate standard and automatic transmissions. A $1,500 New Hire Tool Bonus is offered along with comprehensive benefits.

Mansioni

• Performs Preventive Maintenance: oil changes, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of the vehicle for mechanical deficiencies.
• Based upon certification levels, performs various repairs and maintenance which may include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine and drive line components, etc.
• Keeps shop area clean and tidy. Perform work in accordance with safety standards. Dispose of all fluids in a safe manner and in accordance with all regulations.
• Creates and maintains vehicle history and maintenance records. May up fit new vehicles with the necessary equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
• Responsibilities for Level II: light to major repairs; advanced diagnostics; coordinate with vendors for parts; provide roadside assistance; use custom equipment for design/fabrication tasks; diagnose and repair brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, HVAC, major engine, hydraulics

Automotive Mechanic Technician II

This position offer an $1,500 New Hire Tool Bonus

Job-specific responsibilities include:

• Performs Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of the vehicle for mechanical deficiencies.


• Based upon certification levels, performs various repairs and maintenance which may include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine and drive line components, etc.


• Keeps shop area clean and tidy. Perform work in accordance with safety standards. Dispose of all fluids in a safe manner and in accordance with all regulations.


• Creates and maintains vehicle history and maintenance records. May up fit new vehicles with the necessary equipment.


• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Additional Responsibilities for Level II

• Responsibilities as outlined above for all technicians.


• Performs light to major repairs.


• Performs advanced vehicle diagnostics.


• Assures prompt repairs by interfacing and coordinating with vendors for parts and repairs.


• Provides roadside assistance as needed.


• Uses custom equipment when needed in order to complete moderate design/fabrication tasks including welding.


• Responsible for the efficient diagnosis, repair, and replacement of general automotive parts and accessories.


• Conduct a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs; including but not limited to brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, maintenance services, HVAC, major engine, and hydraulics

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• High school diploma or GED (or 3+ years of related work experience


• servicing vehicles instead of the degree).


• 3+ years of vehicle service and repair experience.


• Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.


• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Physical requirements:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, climb, and tolerate excess noise levels, car exhaust and outdoor weather conditions.

SMCOX

USD 24.23 - 36.35 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $24.23 - $36.35/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
