Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional mobile app development across Android/iOS.
• Strong Kotlin development experience.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform preferred.
• Experience with MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Experience integrating apps with RESTful APIs, JSON, and backend services.
• Experience with Git and modern SDLC practices.
• Experience with IoT/Bluetooth devices is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience and strong collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative mobile engineering team working on applications that integrate with backend systems, IoT technologies, and Bluetooth connected devices.

Role Summary

The Intersect Group is seeking an experienced Mobile Application Engineer to develop and enhance mobile experiences across iOS and Android platforms. This role will have a strong focus on Kotlin development, with the team moving toward Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform as its cross platform development strategy.

You will work within a dedicated mobile application team to build customer facing features that improve engagement, onboarding, communication, and retention. The engineer will collaborate closely with mobile and backend developers, product teams, marketing partners, and other stakeholders while contributing to the broader mobile application roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mobile application features across iOS and Android platforms
• Build mobile solutions using Kotlin while contributing to the adoption of Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform
• Develop customer engagement capabilities including push notifications, registration, onboarding, personalized experiences, and in app messaging
• Integrate mobile applications with RESTful APIs, backend services, IoT technologies, and Bluetooth connected devices
• Collaborate with engineering, product, marketing, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable mobile features
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to mobile architecture, engineering standards, and development best practices
• Maintain application compatibility and functionality as new mobile operating system versions are released

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of professional mobile application development experience across Android and iOS environments
• Strong hands on Kotlin development experience and a solid understanding of modern mobile application development
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform is highly preferred, although strong Kotlin engineers without direct Multiplatform experience will be considered
• Experience with mobile architecture patterns including MVVM and Clean Architecture
• Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs, JSON, backend services, and third party libraries
• Experience with Git version control and modern software development, testing, code review, and release practices
• Experience integrating mobile applications with IoT or Bluetooth Low Energy connected devices is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience, with strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and ownership skills
