Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for our Freestanding Emergency Department on a PRN night shift with a 15% shift differential. The role conducts routine lab procedures on blood, urine, and tissue samples and analyzes results to aid in patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology is required.
• Must obtain Certification as an MLT from ASCP or AMT within 12 months of hire.
• Education/experience equivalent: 60 semester hours with MLS or science courses and clinical lab training as specified.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine laboratory procedures on specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples.
• Analyze test results to determine presence, absence, or cause of disease.
• Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and timely reporting of findings.
• Function as an educator as necessary.

Education

Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology

Military training of 50+ weeks as Medical Laboratory Specialist or education equivalent to an associate degree (60 semester hours with MLS/SCI courses)
