Required qualifications include an associate degree in Laboratory Science or MLT or equivalent, with certification as MLT within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent required.
• Military training of 50+ weeks in Medical Laboratory Specialist can substitute for degree.
• Certification as MLT (ASCP or AMT) within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine laboratory procedures on specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples.
• Analyze test results to determine the presence, absence, or cause of disease.
• Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and timely reporting of findings.
• Function as an educator as necessary.
