Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. in Murray, Utah is seeking MLT/MLS students for a part-time internship in the Central Laboratory. Trainees will perform a subset of qualitative and quantitative tests under supervision, and complete required training to support patient care.

Responsibilities include routine testing, quality control, documentation, and possible hands-on instruction to patients and families. Flexible scheduling including weekends and nights is expected.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Enrolled in an MLT/MLS student program and eligible for internship status.

Responsibilities

• Attends orientations and completes paperwork before starting internship.
• Completes required training and competency assessments prior to testing.
• Performs routine and STAT laboratory testing and reviews results.
• Completes quality control testing and maintains regulatory records.
• May perform maintenance/calibration per SOPs.
• May provide instruction to patients and families.
• May help maintain supply inventory and notify if low.
