Job summary

UW Medicine in Seattle is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist Trainee/1 for the Coagulation & Hematology Laboratory at UWMC-Montlake. You will perform PT, PTT, D-dimer, TEG6s testing, and hematology analyses while supporting bone marrow workups and instrument maintenance.

You will train MLS students and residents, participate in continuing education, and advance toward ASCP certification within 18 months. This is a 100% FTE day shift position in a fast-paced academic lab.

Qualifications

• Accredited bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• Eligible to take ASCP certification within 18 months from date of hire.
• MLS Trainee/1 requires commitment to certification within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform coagulation and hematology testing on multiple platforms.
• Enter patient and quality control data into LIS and ensure data integrity.
• Assist with training MLS students and new staff in procedures.
• Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation and quality controls.
