Job summary

The UW Medicine Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle, WA has a fantastic opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Scientist Trainee/1 with the Coagulation & Hematology Laboratory at the University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake.

You will perform coagulation and hematology testing, assist with bone marrow procedures, and support MLS students and residents during their clinical rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MLS or equivalent education/experience.
• Eligible to take MLS certification within 18 months of hire.
• One year of MLS trainee experience or related clinical training.

Responsibilities

• Perform Coagulation testing on STAR Max and associated assays.
• Perform Hematology testing including differential counts and smear reviews.
• Run and evaluate Quality Controls for all coagulation and hematology procedures.
• Assist with bone marrow processing and preparation for testing.
• Enter patient and QC data into LIS and communicate results as needed.
