Job summary

University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for hematology/general laboratory work on the night shift. The MLS II will perform standard laboratory procedures, ensure quality control, and collaborate with clinical teams to support patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, ASCP certification, and 2+ years of clinical lab experience. Degree and certification are essential; hematology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required: Medical Technology, MLS, Chemistry, or Biology.
• ASCP Certification (or equivalent) required.
• Minimum 2 years of Clinical Lab Experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment and records; perform QC/QA for test performances.
• Perform a broad range of laboratory procedures in hematology.
• Collaborate with health care practitioners and other team members.
• Lead administrative tasks as MLS II with additional duties when assigned.
