Job summary

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II to join its laboratory team as a Generalist. This role requires an ASCP-certified professional who enjoys collaborating in a hospital setting and performing a broad range of testing.

The position offers night shifts (1830-0700), three 12-hour shifts per week, with weekend and holiday rotation. Certification preferred/required and Bachelor’s degree in Physical/Life Science or related field are expected.

• Broad laboratory knowledge across multiple specialties and testing areas.
• Strong commitment to quality patient care.
• Ability to operate and maintain general laboratory instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Operates instrumentation to deliver precise, timely lab results.
• Trains new staff in methods and equipment use.
• Performs quality controls and troubleshoots instrumentation issues.
• Documents patient test results accurately in the LIMS with timely turnarounds.
• Supports performance improvement initiatives and problem-solving.
