Quest Diagnostics Incorporated invites qualified candidates for a Medical Laboratory Scientist I position in North Bergen, NJ. The role requires every-other-weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday) from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, as needed, in a hospital-based Palisades site.

Pay ranges from $30.00 to $40.35 per hour, with potential shift differentials of 10% during second shift and 15% during third shift. Benefits are offered based on employment type, with a focus on training and development

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493
• 1 year clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain records ensuring proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Follow established policies when test systems are out of range.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance or reporting and notify supervisor.
