Job summary

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join the Core Laboratory team in Nashville, TN. The role focuses on high-complexity testing across core disciplines, with independence in a high- complexity environment and responsibility for instrument troubleshooting and result validation.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science, Tennessee MLS license, MLS/MT (ASCP) certification, and at least 5 years of experience in core lab testing,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or another qualifying laboratory science.
• Tennessee Medical Laboratory Scientist License is required.
• MLS/MT (ASCP) certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience, preferably with core laboratory testing.
• Hands-on experience in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, or urinalysis.
• Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated clinical laboratory instrumentation.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity testing across core lab disciplines including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis.
• Process and analyze patient specimens with accurate and timely reporting.
• Review and validate results against procedures and quality standards.
• Maintain QC/QA activities and regular maintenance of instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot and calibrate automated lab instruments as required.
• Document procedures and ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP and SOPs.
• Monitor inventories and assist with reagents and supplies as needed.
