Job summary

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a growing Nashville clinical laboratory to recruit a Microbiology Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS). This role focuses on traditional microbiology testing, culture interpretation, identification, and susceptibility testing in a high-complexity setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in MLS or related field, Tennessee licensure, MLS/MT (ASCP) certification, and at least 5 years of microbiology experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• TN Medical Lab Scientist License required.
• MLS/MT (ASCP) certification.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience, with significant microbiology.
• Experience with culture interpretation, organism identification, and susceptibility testing.
• Experience in a high-complexity clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity microbiology testing including culture and susceptibility testing.
• Provide organism identification and antimicrobial susceptibility results.
• Review results for validity and alignment with procedures and clinical findings.
• Maintain QC/QA activities and calibration of instrumentation.
• Ensure documentation complies with CLIA, CAP, and SOPs.
• Support inventory, reagent preparation, and verification activities.
• Serve as technical resource and assist with training and troubleshooting.
