Job summary

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager in Nashville, TN to oversee the core laboratory operations and lead a team of up to 20 employees. The role involves staffing, scheduling, quality control, and regulatory compliance across chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and accessioning.

The ideal candidate has a Tennessee Supervisor License, a relevant Bachelor's degree, and extensive experience in high-complexity testing with strong leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee Medical Laboratory Supervisor License required.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, MLS, Biology, Chemistry or related field.
• Experience in high-complexity testing and clinical laboratory management.
• Previous core lab/generalist management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of the core laboratory across Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and accessioning workflows.
• Directly manage 10–20 laboratory and accessioning staff with coaching and performance management.
• Staffing and scheduling oversight based on testing volume and workflow needs.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and develop laboratory personnel with HR support.
• Monitor workflow, turnaround times, and bottlenecks; implement improvements.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, Tennessee state requirements and SOPs.
• Oversee training, proficiency testing, quality control, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements in staffing, workflow, quality, and productivity.
• Support instrument validation, maintenance, and new testing processes as needed.
• Maintain and update laboratory policies and SOPs.
• Investigate issues and drive corrective/preventive actions.
