Job summary

Hebrew Public in Staten Island, NY seeks a driven MLL Teacher to deliver standards-based instruction and monitor student progress. Experience with Responsive Classroom and collaboration with colleagues to refine teaching practices is required.

No Hebrew language prerequisite is required, and applicants from underrepresented groups are encouraged. The role emphasizes administering NYSITEL and NYSESLAT, analyzing data, and maintaining high expectations in a supportive, inclusive school environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• K-12 lead teaching experience in a classroom setting is a plus.
• Experience in urban, public charter, or Title I schools is a plus.
• Holding NY teacher certification or working towards certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality Common Core aligned lesson plans.
• Analyze assessment data to drive curricular decisions.
• Administer NYSITEL to new entrants within 10 days.
• Administer NYSESLAT to MLL/ESL students yearly.
• Maximize learning time through effective classroom management.
• Provide an inviting, engaging learning environment with varied instructional techniques.
• Demonstrate mastery in subject area with appropriate degree.
• Collaborate with faculty to ensure curricular coherence.
• Engage energetically with students and staff.
