Job summary

Major League Baseball is seeking a Cook at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC) in Vero Beach, FL. The role supports dining services, concessions, and catering, ensuring quality, consistency, and safe food preparation for all outlets.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, maintaining workstations, and following recipes and FIFO practices. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year cooking experience.
• Ability to obtain a valid food handler certification.
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Experience in high-volume kitchens preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to JRTC recipes, ensuring quality, portioning, and presentation standards.
• Support food production across dining services, concessions, and catering operations.
• Set up and maintain workstations with ingredients, tools, and cooking equipment.
• Check ingredient quality and prep as needed (washing, chopping, peeling, slicing, etc.).
• Cook with various methods and equipment across venues (stadium, concessions, outdoor events).
• Monitor temperatures for food safety.
• Complete prep lists and production tasks as directed by the Chef Manager on duty.
• Label, rotate, and store all food and ingredients, following FIFO.
• Maintain organization and temperature logs in storage areas.
• Follow standardized recipes and measure portions.
• Present and garnish dishes according to service standards.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized workstation throughout shifts.
• Assist with other Food & Beverage tasks as needed.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
