Job summary

Amazon Optics Analytics team seeks a Software Development Manager to lead ML-powered analytics and automation for security across AWS and Amazon. You will own ML pipelines, production serving, and real‑time decisioning, partnering with engineers and applied scientists.

You will guide architecture, drive product strategy, and support scalable customer-facing systems with a strong ownership mindset, in a fast-paced, cross‑functional environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• 3+ years building machine learning models for business applications.
• Knowledge of full software/hardware/networks lifecycle including coding standards and ops.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and applied scientists building ML-driven analytics and automation services for physical security operations.
• Own the full lifecycle of ML systems: data pipelines, model training, production serving, and evaluation.
• Partner with security operations customers to identify automation opportunities and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Drive technical strategy for analytics services that process security signals in real time.
• Independently own a software architecture or product with significant business impact.
• Define vision of customer needs and how the product will resolve it.
• Mitigate risks and guide the team through complex problems and roadblocks.
• Provide the team with support for end-to-end ownership and improve engineering excellence.
