Job summary

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in data science, ML engineering, or applied ML with hands-on production ownership.
• 2+ years of people-management experience or leading technical teams.
• Experience building, deploying, and operating ML/optimization systems in production with end-to-end lifecycle ownership.
• Strong proficiency with Python and SQL and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data technologies like Snowflake, Spark, Databricks.
• Ability to establish and improve engineering processes (code/design reviews, testing, production readiness, monitoring, post-incident reviews).
• Experience with governance, auditability, and responsible AI practices.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence across multiple projects and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing ML engineering team, mentoring engineers and fostering ownership.
• Set technical direction for ML systems, including architecture, testing, deployment, and governance.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, data engineers, product managers, and risk/finance partners to translate needs into solid technical plans.
• Oversee scalable, reliable systems including high-throughput services and analytics applications on cloud platforms.
• Define and maintain the ML engineering roadmap and operating model across teams.
• Raise engineering standards through design reviews, release checklists, and reproducible processes.
• Drive the portfolio balance between new development and maintenance, balancing speed and quality.
• Represent the team in planning, budgeting, and communicating risks and decisions to leadership.
