Job summary

Woven by Toyota is seeking a Software Engineer or ML Engineer to join the Machine Learning Platform team, accelerating and scaling ML engineering for perception, prediction and planning models across millions of Toyota vehicles.

You will collaborate with ML teams, develop tooling, manage data pipelines, and contribute to efficient production deployment. The role requires self-driven problem-solvers in a fast-paced, hybrid environment with focus on production quality.

Qualifications

• BSc / BEng (MS/PhD nice-to-have) in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
• 2+ years of experience with UNIX-based systems (Linux or similar), Python, and PyTorch/TensorFlow.
• 2+ years of experience in the full MLOps cycle: data cleansing, sampling, curation, pre-processing, loading, distributed training, testing, deployment, and edge/cloud deployment.
• Experience with Docker and CI systems such as GitHub Actions.
• Business-level proficiency in English, able to write technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, optimize and support the ML Platform’s systems and tools for perception, prediction, and planner development for millions of Toyota vehicles.
• Develop user-friendly tooling, frameworks and libraries to support ML engineering, including metrics tracking and failure mode analysis.
• Build and maintain dataset generation, cloud training and evaluation pipelines.
• Review code with ML and ML Platform engineers to enable rapid incremental improvements.
• Optimize processes, tooling and infrastructure to accelerate ML engineering; contribute to long-term strategy.
• Work in a high-velocity, agile environment; collaborate across teams; hybrid Palo Alto office three days per week.
