Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC in Westborough, MA is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer, Physical AI Systems to advance autonomous robotics. You will design, train, and deploy ML models for perception, grasping, and robot control in high-automation fulfillment labs.

The role requires 3+ years in ML/AI/robotics, strong Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and experience deploying models to production. On-site collaboration with software, robotics, and hardware teams offers a path to impact-scale

Qualifications

3+ years of industry experience in ML/AI/Robotics/Computer Vision or related field.
Strong programming experience in Python.
Experience deploying ML models into production environments.
Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Strong understanding of computer vision, object detection, segmentation, and perception systems.
Experience with large-scale datasets and training pipelines.
Familiarity with Linux development environments.
Knowledge of testing, Git, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.
Ability to collaborate with both software and hardware teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, ML, Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

Design, train, evaluate, and deploy ML models enabling robots to identify, locate, and manipulate objects.
Develop computer vision systems for identifying boxes, totes, packages, and inventory items.
Build perception models for robotic grasping and movement of objects of varying sizes and weights.
Partner with robotics software engineers to integrate ML models into production systems.
Analyze real-world robot performance data to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Develop training/evaluation pipelines from data collected on deployed platforms.
Optimize ML models for low-latency inference on robotic hardware.
Design experiments to improve manipulation success rates in challenging scenarios.
Validate model performance through lab testing, simulation, and real deployments.
Contribute to next-generation Physical AI systems combining perception, decision-making, and control.
