Job summary

Boston Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Machine Learning to lead a team of around five engineers working on the Orbit platform.

You will research, prototype, and deploy multimodal models using robotic sensor data to extract actionable site information such as anomalous states and object classifications. The role requires deep expertise in Python, generative AI, and vision-focused ML; you will collaborate with software and product teams to deliver robust ML solutions and continually improve

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of industry experience.
• Strong Python software development skills and architecture knowledge.
• Experience training, fine-tuning, and applying state-of-the-art generative AI models, preferably in CV.
• Experience with ML tools and workflows (CUDA, PyTorch).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ~5 machine learning engineers.
• Research, prototype, and deploy multimodal models from robotic sensors for site insights.
• Establish evaluation methods for inspection model performance.
• Curate datasets for training, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
• Identify and apply model performance improvement strategies.
